Bill served four years in the U. S. Army as a Quartermaster at Fort Carson, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During his time in the Army, Bill began to feel led to pursue the Gospel ministry, and enrolled first at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary near Boston, Massachusetts. After two years, he transferred to Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, because he wanted to pursue ministry in the Presbyterian Church in America.
