Outdoor Adventure

Team motto: “Boring people talk. Awesome people do.”  - Kid President

Goal: Get people to do stuff – individually and with each other.  Targeting young teenagers – adults.  Serve as a resource to Youth, Families, Men’s and Women’s ministries.

Primary benefits:
1. See and feel how awesome is our God Creator.  Supports believing that our God is able to do all things.
2. Individual character and community building.  Meaningful time spent together; fun sometimes stressful; testing limits; measured risks; building confidence.

Core Activities:
The specific activities may vary from year to year, but here is a description of the core events that will typically be planned:

Winter Cross-country Ski Overnight Trip to the Zealand Hut in the New Hampshire White Mountains.  Friday – Saturday.  Late February (school vacation period).  Detailed trip description available.  Some skill and physical fitness necessary.  

Battenkill River Canoe-Camping Trip.  Arlington, VT – Cambridge, NY.  The weekend following Memorial Day weekend.  Set up camp Friday evening.  Canoe most of the day on Saturday.  Home Saturday evening.  Good for beginners and experts alike.  Mostly quickwater.  Beautiful scenery, including a number of covered bridges.

Summer White Mountain Backpacking Trip.  July or August.  Typical trip three days and two nights.  Various routes possible.  Make use of AMC huts and/or camping.  This is for physically fit individuals.
